Candidates may apply online for the course(s) on payment of Rs. 600.00 (for General and OBC students), Rs. 500/- (for OBC Non- Creamy Layer/ EWS Category) and Rs. 400.00 (for SC/ST/PWD students) through e-challan/online payment.

The candidates who have appeared/ are appearing in TDC Part III/6th Semester examination 2019 of Assam University or any other recognized university may also apply for admission to PG Courses. However, such candidates must submit their complete result of the TDC examination in the concerned department as per last date to be notified in due course of time. Separate application should be submitted for each course (up to a maximum of two courses in any campus).

Top Institutes of Barak Valley – NIT Silchar ranks 51 & Assam University slips to 97 in NIRF 2019 Ranking

The 2019 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) judged the institutions and universities in the country on various parameters. The rankings of the 2019 NIRF list were announced by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind on 8^th April 2019.

Only two institutes i.e. NIT Silchar and Assam University from Barak Valley found places in the 2019 ranking by MHRD.

NIT Silchar Ranking in NIRF 2019 – 51^st

National Institute of Technology NIT Silchar is ranked 51^st, which is a six place improvement form NIRF 2018 Ranking of 57^th rank, which is a very good sign of gradual improvement.

Among other NITs ranked in the NIRF 2019 list, NIT Silchar came 11^th, and as usual NIT Tiruchirappalli ranked 10^th best engineering college in India, is the highest ranked NIT.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati at 7^th position is the best engineering institute from North East India.

Assam University Ranking in NIRF 2019 – 97^th

Assam University Silchar is ranked 97^th, which is a ten place slip form NIRF 2018 Ranking of 87^th rank. The only university of Barak Valley is not going in the desirable directions.

It received an overall score of 38.67, score in different parameters are given below

• Teaching, Learning and Resources – 56.32 (out of 100)
• Research and professional practice – 13.29 (out of 100)
• Graduation Outcome – 63.64 (out of 100)
• Outreach and Inclusivity – 45.81 (out of 100)

Tezpur University ranked at 29^th position is the best university from Assam and North East India.
