IISER Admission 2021 to BS, BS-MS dual degree programmes will be through KVPY fellowship, JEE Advanced, and IAT 2021. 

IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) : Friday, 17 September, 2021

 

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) at have begun the online application process for admission to BS and BS-MS dual degree programmes.

To promote high-quality science education, research, and training, Government of India has set up seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati.

 

Degree Programmes

  • BS-MS (Dual Degree)

It is a five-year degree program for bright and motivated science students who have passed class 10+2 or equivalent. Most IISERs offer BS-MS (Dual Degree) in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Earth and Environmental Sciences is available at select IISERs. 

The BS-MS program integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary interactions. The program consists of core courses in basic sciences and specialization in chosen subjects along with an MS research project. This program enables students to pursue careers in academia, R&D institutes, and industries.

Additionally, IISER Bhopal offers four year BS programmes in EconomicSciences. 

 

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent level exam with science stream in 2020 or 2021 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) and have scored within the category-wise cut-off are eligible to apply for admissions to IISER only through the following three channels:

  1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
  2. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
  3. State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)

These channels will be referred to as KVPY, JEE, and SCB, respectively.

Indian nationals and students belonging to PIO or OCI category are eligible to apply provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria described below.

KVPY Channel

Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from 2021-22 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable.

JEE-Advanced Channel

Candidates securing a rank within 15000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced 2021 are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to the reserved category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, EWS), their rank should be within 15000. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable.

SCB Channel

  • Students who have passed 10+2 level with science stream in 2020 or 2021, from any board recognized by COBSE, are eligible to apply for admissions and appear for IAT 2021.
  • However, they will be considered for admissions to the degree programmes only if they obtain the cut-off marks specified.
  • Students applying through SCB channel will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) which will be conducted at various centres across the country.

2. Date of opening of the application portal for the KVPY stream : 1 July, 2021

3. Date of closing of the application portal for the KVPY stream : 31 August, 2021

4. Date of opening of the application portal for the SCB stream : 1 July, 2021

5. Date of closing of the application portal for the SCB stream : 31 August, 2021

6. Date of opening of the application portal for the JEE stream : TBA

7. Date of closing of the application portal for the JEE stream : TBA

Eligibility Criteria for NIT Arunachal Pradesh PhD Admission 2020
Engineering Departments

 

Master’s Degree in Engineering /Technology in the relevant area of research along with Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology with first class or minimum 60% Marks (or CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or equivalent) at Master’s and Bachelor’s level.
Final year Master’s Degree students whose result is awaited may also apply, provided they should produce original mark sheet/grade card during interview.
Science Department Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of Science with a first class or minimum 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or equivalent at Master’s level).

 

Selection Procedure
Selection will be done through written test/personal interview by respective departments.

The application form can be downloaded from the institute website www.nitap.ac.in.
A Candidate interested in applying in more than one department/category shall be required to submit separate application forms along with appropriate fees and documents.
The envelope must be superscripted as “Application for Admission to PhD Program (Full-Time/Part-Time/Self-sponsored) in the Department ______under the Student Category”.

Admission Groups
Admission to Ph.D. Program will be on two Groups : A and B
Group A Regular Category who may receive a fellowship from the MHRD / CSIR/UGC orany other recognized funding agency. Fellowship: As per MHRD / CSIR / UGC guidelines.
Group B No financial assistance or stipend by NIT Silchar will be provided for this group.
Eligibility Criteria for NIT Silchar PhD Admission 2020

Engineering Departments

M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent with GATE / NET qualification in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks).
For SC/ST/PwD candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks).
B.E./B.Tech. with an excellent academic record with valid GATE score and with a CPI of at least 8.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (75% of marks).
For graduates from IITs/NITs, the minimum CPI requirement is 7.0 (on a 10 point scale).
For SC/ST/PwD candidates, there is a relaxation of 0.5 CPI or 5% of the marks.
 

Science Departments

Master degree in a relevant discipline with a GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for admission with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks).
For SC/ ST/ PwD candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks) with a GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for admission.
Management Studies Departments Master’s degree in Business Administration or Master’s degree in Engineering /Technology with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks) or Master degree in other disciplines with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks).
For SC / ST / PwD candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks). A score in NET / GATE / UGC is required for all.
Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department Master’s degree in any field with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60 % of marks) or Master degree in other disciplines with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60 % of marks).
For SC / ST/ PwD candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55 % of marks). A score in NET / GATE / UGC is required for all.
NIT Silchar PhD Admission 2020 Application Process

  • The filled in and signed Application Form must be accompanied with an Application Fee of Rs.500/- (for General/OBC) OR Rs.250/- (for SC/ST) in the form of crossed Demand Draft (D.D.) in favour of Director, N.I.T. Silchar, payable at Silchar.

HOW TO APPLY

Students applying courses/programmes in Shillong as well in Tura Campus  are requested to apply online on payment of  Rs.800/- and Rs.400/- (for SC/ST category) and for Ph.D. Programme  Rs.500/- and Rs.250/- (for SC/ST category) and the payment will be online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking through SBI  and HDFC Bank. The admission fee is not refundable.

The last date of submission of application form for admission in MBA and M.Tech.(Sponsored) programme has been extended upto 15th May, 2020 till 5.00 pm. 

Master in Business Administration Programmes

    • This Programme is aimed at providing in–depth understanding to students in technical, human and conceptual skills necessary for a successful manager with specialization in different functional areas like Financial Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource and System Management. The teaching strategy for this Programme oriented towards the application of knowledge with live cases and teaching aids. There is a six weeks summer internship programme for students, after completion of first year course to develop business acumen. The student has regular interactions with personalities from various Industries/ Academia and also undergoes frequent Industrial visits.

    • MBA Admission Process
      CGPA 6 or 60% for Engg and CGPA 5.5 or 55% for any other graduates. A relaxation of 5% or 0.5 in CGPA/CPI in a 10 point scale on graduation marks maybe extended to the SC/ST candidates. Final year appearing candidates may also apply. 
      1. A valid GMAT score will be applicable for foreign students only.
      2. Students appearing at their final year graduation examination may also apply (with eligibility criteria up to last completed semester). Intake: 38 (Reservations as per the rules of Government of India).

EXTENSION IN THE DATE OF RECEIVING OF MBA APPLICATION FORM 2020-22

Due to the prevailing condition of the outbreak of COVID 19, the last date for receiving the soft copy of the MBA application form via e-mail (nits.mba.admission@gmail.com) along with all the testimonials (including the proof of payment of application fee) is extended till 15th May 2020 and the last date for receiving of the hard copy of the application form along with all testimonials and proof of payment of the application fees at NIT Silchar is extended till 30th May 2020.

All other dates related to admission to MBA Programme 2020-22 shall be

Eligibility

Academic Eligibility

    One of the following qualifications is required as basic eligibility:
  • a. Master’s or Post Graduate Diploma (2 yrs) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • b. Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with B Com/Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent.
  • c. B Tech/4 year Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent

 

Work Experience Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years full-time work experience after graduation.
  • All relevant qualifications mentioned above must be granted by appropriate bodies in India or abroad and recognized as equivalent.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (Non- Creamy Layer) and Persons-with-Disabilities will be given a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.

 

Additional eligibility criteria for the Strategic Management Area:

  • a. The Strategic Management Area require a minimum work experience of 15 years (full time) after graduation. The experience of heading a business unit or company or a large department or functional division/unit is preferred.
  • b. Participants would submit letters of recommendation from Senior Leadership along with their application.

 

Selection Process: Candidates will be short listed on the recommendation of respective areas based on their Profile. Such candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview (and/or Written Test for selected areas if any) at IIM Kozhikode. Limited accommodation will be available to the candidates (on payment basis) inside campus for attending the interviews

IIMK’s PhD admission follows the reservation policy of the Government of India.

 

How to apply

Candidates are required to apply online. They can apply to a maximum of two areas of specialization. An application fee of Rs.1500/- is required which has to be remitted online through the link provided with the application form. Scanned copies of all academic mark-sheets, and category certificate are to be uploaded alongwith the online application form. Two referee recommendations about the candidate are required to complete the formal submission of application. The recommendation letter can be submitted online by the referee directly to IIMK and the link for online submission will be provided to the referee to his/her email id.IMPORTANT DATES

Tezpur University has released the Online Application Form for Admission into UG Degree/ PG/ Ph.D/ Integrated/ Diploma/ Certificate Programmes in Tezpur University.

Interested eligible candidates may APPLY ONLINE through this admissions portal by paying a fee of Rs. 400/- for SC, ST and PWDcandidates, and Rs. 800/- for other categories. For international candidates fee is 25$. Additional bank charges may apply.

Candidates for admission to B. Tech will be selected on the basis of All India Rank

Sixty percent of the total seats will be filled up from the candidates of NE states.
Candidates of NE states may apply against the seats reserved for the North East (NE) states for which the candidates will be required to produce Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) issued by the Competent Authority of any NE state. Counseling and admission of the shortlisted candidates will be held at Tezpur University. Admission to the remaining seats will be made through the Central Counseling conducted by the JoSAA.
Category III: (i) Direct Admission to Integrated and B.Tech programmes (Rank Holder) :
Candidates of NE states securing any of the top 5 positions in the Higher Secondary
Examinations conducted by the Council of the NE states with an aggregate marks of 85% or above will be directly admitted to (a) the 10-semesters Integrated M.Sc./ M.A./ M. Com. programme, (b) 8-semesters Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. programme and (c) B.Tech. programmes as per their preferences. The candidates of B. Tech. programme will be required to qualify JEE (Main) and their counseling and admission will be made as per CRL Rank of JEE (Main). Such candidates may apply in the prescribed application form separately after declaration of their results of 10+2 examinations conducted by the Council. Candidates passed out from CBSE will
not be considered for the direct admission.
(ii) Direct Admission to M. Tech. programme:
A certain number of candidates will be admitted directly to the M.Tech. Programme mentioned in the Category I (7) based on the valid GATE score. Prospectus may be referred to for exact number of seats for admissions to M.Tech through GATE and TUEE.
Category D : PhD Offering Departments/ Centres: Admission based on the Entrance Examinations and Personal Interview :
(i) Departments under School of Sciences: Chemical Sciences, Environmental Science, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Mathematical Sciences, Physics.
(ii) Departments under School of Engineering: Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy, Food Engineering & Technology, Mechanical Engineering.
(iii)Departments under School of Management Sciences: Business Administration and Commerce.
(iv)Departments under School of Humanities and Social Sciences: English, Cultural Studies, Hindi, Mass Communication and Journalism, Education, Sociology and Centre for Women Studies.

Candidates to the PhD programmes will be selected for admission on the basis of Written Examination and Personal Interview. However, candidates with UGC-(NET/JRF)/UGC-CSIR(NET/JRF)/DBTJRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR-NET/GATE/ SLET / M.Phil. will be exempted from appearing in the Written Examination, however, and they will be required to appear in the Personal Interview. The University Entrance
Examination will be conducted in different designated examination centres; however, Personal Interview (PI) will be conducted in the respective Departments. Pre-Requisites and area of research of the Ph.D. programme are given below.

Reservation and relaxation: As per Govt. of India Rules.
Sports quota: The University reserved 5 seats with not more than one seat per Department on Supernumerary basis for the candidates who have participated National/International sports events. However, they will have to satisfy eligibility criteria and appear in the Entrance Examination.

Examination Centres: There are 27 examination centres covering major cities all over India. The applicant can appear in the entrance examination at any one of the Centres. The University will also conduct the entrance Examinations in Kathmandu (Nepal), Thimpu ( Bhutan) and Dhaka(Bangladesh).

The applicants should read the available instructions carefully while filling in the online Application Form. The following major points are to be noted :  

  • Application Fee : The payment of the Application fee is to be made online using credit card/debit card/net-banking. The transaction details may be printed and preserved for later reference. The submission of the Application Form will remain incomplete until the required Application Fee is transferred successfully.
  • Multiple Programmes : Candidates applying for multiple Programmes must apply separately with separate Application Fee for each Programme. However, there will be one entrance test per department for Integrated dual B.Sc. & M.Sc. and Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. programmes. Similarly, there will be one entrance test for M.Tech (IT) and M. Tech (CSE) programmes.
  • Students applying for integrated programmes for the same department can apply in single application form. The candidates can give their preference either for a single programme or both the programmes. The one who applies for both the programmes will be considered as applying for two programmes and will have to pay two times the application fee. However for single examination only one time fee will be applicable.
  • B. Tech. Programmes : In the case of B. Tech. programmes, a candidate needs to apply in a single application form only. The selected candidates will opt for the Programme/ Department based on the availability of seats at the time of their turns during the admission process. 
  • Candidates yet to obtain the last qualifying Degree/Diploma/Certificate : Candidates who have already finished their qualifying examinations or expect to finish all the components, including practical, viva-voce (if any), and backlog courses/ papers of earlier semesters before the date of admission may also apply.
  • Admit Card for Entrance Examinations : Candidates shortlisted for appearing University entrance examinations (not for B.Tech. Programmes) will be intimated separately through e-mail/SMS on their registered e-mail IDs/mobile numbers to download their admit cards.

Stage II: IPM Aptitude Test 2020

    • All the interested applicants will undergo IIM Rohtak’s IPM Aptitude Test that will examine the aptitude, logical reasoning and proficiency in English of the applicant.
    • IPM AT 2020 will be conducted on May 1, 2020 from 9 AM to 11 AM. The test will be conducted by TCS at PAN India locations including test centres in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.

Verbal Ability 40 40 minutes

Note: Each question will carry 4 marks. There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. All the questions will be multiple choice questions.

Stage III: Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT)

    •  The announcement of Call for Personal Interviews (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) will be done in First/ Second Week of May 2020. The shortlisting will be based on the IPM AT 2020 scores.
    •  The candidates during their personal interviews will be judged on the basis of their academics, general awareness, and communication skills.
  •  The interviews are proposed to be held Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Rohtak tentatively in 3rd and 4th week of May 2020.


 Stage IV:  Announcement of Selection List and Offer Acceptance 

    •  The final Merit List will be generated based on the composite score as mentioned below:

    • The announcement of Merit List and sending of Offer Letters to the selected candidates will be done by Second Week of June 2020. The candidates receiving the offer letter for IIM Rohtak IPM Admission 2020 and accepting the offer within the stipulated date will require to deposit Offer Acceptance Amount (as mentioned in the offer letter) through online payment link.

Stage V: Provisional Admission to IPM 02 (2020-25)

    • The candidates accepting the offer of admission to IPM 02 (2020-25) will be given confirmation letter. The candidate is required to pay the First Year Programme Fee (as mentioned in the confirmation letter) and need to report to the institute campus for on campus registration in first week of July 2020 as per the communicated schedule.
  • If the candidate registers for the programme, his/her OAA will be adjusted with the First Year Programme Fee.
  • Further, on the day of reporting in the campus for registration, the admission team will do physical verification of the documents.
  • Withdrawal of OAA: In case a candidate withdraws after paying the Offer Acceptance Amount, the OAA will be refunded after deducting processing charges of Rs. 20,000/-
  • Withdrawal of Provisional Registration: In case a candidate withdraws before the in-campus registration, the first year programme fee will be refunded after deducting processing charges as per the norms.
  • Last Date for any withdrawal of Offer will be ‘On or before the date of On Campus Registration’. No refund of programme fee will be permissible after the date of registration.
  • The academic session will begin in First week of August 2020. The allocation of hostel room to the candidate will be done on sharing basis. Hostel rooms for DAP category will be arranged on the ground floor.
