IIT Madras (online) BSc Degree in Programming and Data Science – 11 Exam centres available in Assam & Northeast states

IIT Madras, India’s top technical institute, launched world’s first online BSc Degree program in Programming and Data Science.

Anyone joining the program will join at the Foundational Level. The Foundational Level courses allow for interested applicants with a variety of educational backgrounds to learn the basics (Math, Statistics, Computational Thinking, Python programming and English) which help them take up the Diploma Level and then the Degree Level courses.

There are three exit options for those who enter the program via Regular Entry:

Exit 1. Foundational Level certificate from Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Madras.

Exit 2. Diploma in Programming AND/OR Diploma in Data Science from IIT Madras

Exit 3. BSc Degree in Programming and Data Science from IIT Madras

Eligibility to apply

1. The candidate must have studied Mathematics and English in class 10.

2. They should have cleared class 12 or equivalent*.

3. Qualifying Criterion: The candidate should be:
(i) currently enrolled / previously enrolled in any Bachelor’s Degree program in campus mode OR
(ii) completed any Bachelor’s Degree program in any mode (campus / online / distance) OR
(iii) completed 1 year / 2 year / 3 year Diploma (campus mode only) after having completed 12th / equivalent OR
(iv) completed CA Inter OR
(v) completed AMIE. Anyone wishing to apply via Regular Entry must satisfy each of the 3 criteria above.

Qualifier Process

4 weeks of online courses and assignments to be completed. Those who get minimum required scores in weekly assignments in the 4 weeks will get to write Qualifier Exam broadly based on the 4 weeks of content. Those who get minimum required scores in Qualifier Exam get to register for Foundational Level courses.

Structure of the Program

The program is split into three levels that have to be completed strictly in sequence:

1: Foundational Level (8 courses)

2: Diploma Level (6 Programming courses + 6 Data Science courses)

3: Degree Level (11 courses)

Fee Structure

For details about application fees, check Application Process in Admissions page. Fee for each term is calculated based on the Level of the registered courses and respective course credits:
The fee per credit for Foundation Level courses is Rs.1000.
The fee per credit for Diploma / Degree Level courses is Rs.2500.

There’s a 50% fee waiver for

Learners belonging to SC / ST category with family income above 1 lakh per annum.
Persons with Disabilities (PwD >= 40% disability / “severe”) with family income above 1 lakh per annum.
Learners belonging to General / OBC / EWS category with family income above 1 lakh per annum and below 5 lakhs per annum.

There’s a 75% fee waiver for

Learners who are both PwD (>= 40% disability / “severe”) AND belong to the SC / ST category.
Learners belonging to any category (General / OBC / EWS / PwD / SC / ST) with family income below 1 lakh per annum.

Executive FPM is an executive level doctoral course in the domain of management. It is designed for the research-oriented mindset of business executives, managers, faculty members and academicians. There is no uniformity in basic eligibility criteria of the programme, where institutes like XLRI, IIMs, ISB, and BIMTECH require a master’s degree in management with minimum 55% or 60% marks along with relevant work experience of minimum 5 or 8 years. In case of admissions to MDI EFPM, scholars need a minimum of 10 years of working experience.

The IIMs have the lowest fee structure of around INR 6,00,000.

The course is taught as a weekend residential or non-residential programme catering to the needs of working professionals and faculty. The duration of the programme shall vary between one year and eight years, depending on the institute. The completion of course is subject to thesis submission and approval.

IIM Shillong – Post Graduate Program for Executives – PGPEx (MBEE)

Program Duration: 1 Year

The Indian Institute of Management Shillong designed the first ever its Post Graduate Program for Executives (Managing Business in India and China) (PGPEx-MBIC).
