Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM) 2025 Exam Online Registration & other important details

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi opened the registration for the IIT Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2025 on September 3, 2024. Aspiring candidates for the Joint Admission Test for Masters can access the application link directly on the official IIT JAM website, jam2025.iitd.ac.in.

Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM) 2025 will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT), encompassing seven subjects: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).

The Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) is conducted to provide admissions to (i) M.Sc., (ii) M.Sc. (Tech.), (iii) MS (Research), (iv) M.Sc. – M.Tech. Dual Degree, (v) Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., and (vi) M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree, at the IITs for taking up science as a career option for the students

IIT JAM is a common admission test conducted every year for admission into Master of Science (M.Sc.) and other post-graduate science programs at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

JAM 2025 Score is also likely to be used by IISc Bengaluru, IISERs, IIPE, JNCASR, and CFTIs such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT and CCMN.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs), organized by alternating institutes every year.

Eligibility criteria for JAM

• having a bachelor’s degree. There is no percentage criteria to apply for the exam.
• The Foreign candidates can also apply for the JAM Exam after having a qualifying degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) as specified by the Admitting Institute

IIT JAM Exam pattern

 It is a Computer Based Test in SEVEN Test Papers at the undergraduate level.

 Test Papers consists of (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.

 Candidates may appear in ONE or TWO Test Papers. For two test papers, the second paper must be carefully selected to avoid session clash.

 Candidates in merit list are eligible for admission to around 3000 seats in various postgraduate programmes at IITs

IIT Madras (online) BSc Degree in Programming and Data Science – 11 Exam centres available in Assam & Northeast states

IIT Madras, India’s top technical institute, launched world’s first online BSc Degree program in Programming and Data Science. 

Anyone joining the program will join at the Foundational Level. The Foundational Level courses allow for interested applicants with a variety of educational backgrounds to learn the basics (Math, Statistics, Computational Thinking, Python programming and English) which help them take up the Diploma Level and then the Degree Level courses.

There are three exit options for those who enter the program via Regular Entry:

Exit 1. Foundational Level certificate from Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Madras.

Exit 2. Diploma in Programming AND/OR Diploma in Data Science from IIT Madras

Exit 3. BSc Degree in Programming and Data Science from IIT Madras

Eligibility to apply

1. The candidate must have studied Mathematics and English in class 10.

2. They should have cleared class 12 or equivalent*.

3. Qualifying Criterion: The candidate should be:
(i) currently enrolled / previously enrolled in any Bachelor’s Degree program in campus mode OR
(ii) completed any Bachelor’s Degree program in any mode (campus / online / distance) OR
(iii) completed 1 year / 2 year / 3 year Diploma (campus mode only) after having completed 12th / equivalent OR
(iv) completed CA Inter OR
(v) completed AMIE. Anyone wishing to apply via Regular Entry must satisfy each of the 3 criteria above.

Admission process to MBA programs of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee will be conducted jointly in the academic session 2020-2022.

1. Candidates having a valid CAT 2019 scores can apply online for admission to MBA program, session 2020-2022 of IIT(ISM), Dhanbad through Common Admission Portal, which will open one day after the publication of CAT 2019 result i.e., in first week of January, 2020.
2. Closing Date of Application Process: 31st January, 2020
3. Shortlist for interview process will be announced by the respective institute. Only those who are shortlisted will be invited to the interview process (the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview). Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to upload copies of necessary certificates by the respective institute.
4. Interview process will be conducted in 5 cities: Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Roorkee. Applicants need to give three preferences. The Institutes retain the final right to hold or not to hold the interview process in any given location. The candidates must be prepared to be interviewed in any location notwithstanding the city preferences given by them
5. The application process is common to all the four institutes. There will be only one common WAT and interview process for those who apply to more than one institute.
6. Final selection list will be announced by the respective institute in third/last week of April, 2020.

Admission Process: Two year full time MBA Program and MBA (Business Analytics):

The eligibility criteria of MBA Programme is as follows:

1. Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or having 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 (55% marks or CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST/PD) in their degree from a recognized University with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects in Bachelors Degree.
2. Final year students (of the above-mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all the requirements for the qualifying degree before start of the program and will produce provisional certificate of completion of the program latest by September 30, 2020.
3. Shortlist for interview process will be announced by the respective institute. Only those who are shortlisted will be invited to the interview process (the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview). Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to upload copies of necessary certificates by the respective institute.
4. All applicants should have a valid CAT-2019 score.
5. The students who have B.Tech degree from IIT with 8.0 CGPA out of 10 are exempted from appearing in the CAT.

The eligibility criteria of MBA in Business Analytics Programme is as follows:

1. Candidates with B.Tech degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institute with at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.0 out of 10 CGPA [55% marks in aggregate or 5.5 CGPA out of 10 in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD (Differently Abled Categories*)] will be eligible for the programme
2. Final year students (of the above-mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all the requirements for the qualifying degree before start of the program and will produce provisional certificate of completion of the program latest by September 30, 2020.
3. Shortlist for interview process will be announced by the respective institute. Only those who are shortlisted will be invited to the interview process (the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview). Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to upload copies of necessary certificates by the respective institute.

The total number of seats in MBA Programme is 62 and MBA in Business Analytics it is 30. The reservations will be provided as per GOI rules.
