IIT Guwahati Admission July 2020 Session – Post-Graduate Programmes (PhD, Dual-PhD, MTech, MDes, MS-R, MA)
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for July 2020 Session admission to the Post-Graduate programmes of IIT Guwahati.
Applications are to be submitted online. If you are applying to more than one Department/Centre, then you need to register and apply separately for each Department/Centre. Before applying, please carefully go through information given in each of the following links.

The Institute Assistantships/ External Fellowships (such as CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM, etc.) are available only to the students who are admitted under Regular & Full Time Category into PhD programmes.
Institute assistantships will be available to eligible students as per prevailing (MHRD, GOI) norms, as applicable from time to time. The present rates of Institute Assistantships are as below:

Under Regular with GATE: They are entitled to receive Financial Assistantship/ Scholarship from IIT Guwahati at the rate of Rs.12,400/- per month

The PhD Programmes are available for the following types: Regular and Full Time, Sponsored and Full Time, Employed and Part Time, Self-Financed and Full Time, Self-Financed and Part Time, Project Staff and Full Time, Project Staff and Part Time, External and Part Time, and Self-Financed and Full Time Foreign Students.
Stipend for PhD Regular Full Time: At present, the Institute provides monthly assistantship of Rs. 31 ,000 for the first two years and RS.35,000 for the next three years to our regular full time PhD students.

For receiving assistantship in PhD programmes in All Disciplines, a candidate must have a minimum qualifying Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
The selection process through National level examinations conducted by MHRD and its Agencies and Institutions such as UGC/IIT/IISc./IISER/IIIT, etc.
