Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM) 2025 Exam Online Registration & other important details

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi opened the registration for the IIT Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2025 on September 3, 2024. Aspiring candidates for the Joint Admission Test for Masters can access the application link directly on the official IIT JAM website, jam2025.iitd.ac.in.

IIT JAM is a common admission test conducted every year for admission into Master of Science (M.Sc.) and other post-graduate science programs at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

JAM 2025 Score is also likely to be used by IISc Bengaluru, IISERs, IIPE, JNCASR, and CFTIs such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT and CCMN.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs), organized by alternating institutes every year.

Eligibility criteria for JAM

  • having a bachelor’s degree. There is no percentage criteria to apply for the exam.
  • The Foreign candidates can also apply for the JAM Exam after having a qualifying degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) as specified by the Admitting Institute

IIT JAM Exam pattern

 It is a Computer Based Test in SEVEN Test Papers at the undergraduate level.

 Test Papers consists of (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.

 Candidates may appear in ONE or TWO Test Papers. For two test papers, the second paper must be carefully selected to avoid session clash.

 Candidates in merit list are eligible for admission to around 3000 seats in various postgraduate programmes at IITs

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2020 (NEET (UG) – 2020) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental & other Colleges/ Institutes in India.

Admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will be made through NEET. The eligibility criteria applicable to appear in NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to the candidates desirous to take admission to INIs like AIIMS.

Similarly, the criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS course shall also be applicable to INIs. Further, the common counseling for admission to MBBS course in these INIs shall be conducted by the DGHS as per the Time Schedule specified in the MCI’s regulations.

The NEET (UG) – 2020 will be conducted on Sunday, the 03 May, 2020. The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank Merit List” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for providing the result to States/other Counselling Authorities.

The GPAT 2020 will be conduct by National Testing Agency (NTA) on the same pattern as per the Year 2019 i.e., Computer Based Test on January 28, 2020 from 02.30 p.m. to 05.30 p.m. for admission to M. pharma or its equivalent courses across the country. 
The result of GPAT-2020 will be declared by February 7, 2020, which will be accepted by over 800 participating Institutes.

Age: 
There is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT – 2020.
Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students) or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree B. Pharmacy (10+2+4) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2020-21 can also apply for GPAT – 2020 computer-based test (CBT).

B.Tech. (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology)/ equivalent candidates are not eligible to apply.

GPAT: GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST (GPAT) is a national level entrance examination for entry into M.Pharm programmes. Till 2018, it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The Test will now be conducted by the NTA.

This test facilitates institutions to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the Masters (M.Pharm) program. The GPAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given on the basis of the GPAT score.

On behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor Both, in Indian Universities and Colleges.

Till June 2018, the CBSE conducted the NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected Cities of spread across the country. Since Dec 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET is being conducted by the NTA.

The award of JRF and or Eligibility for Assistant Professor depends on the aggregrate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professor are not to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who qualify the test for eligibility for Assistant Professor are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be. UGC-NET is conducted twice a year.

In December 2019, the examination is scheduled between 02 December and 06 December 2019.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) as an independent/autonomous, self-reliant and self-sustained premier testing organization. The conduct of the UGC-NET examination has been entrusted to the NTA by UGC and MHRD, Government of India.
The NTA will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor between 02 and 06 December 2019.

The Test will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.

Assam Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) is a state-government controlled centralized entrance examination, conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University for admission into the 5 premier government engineering colleges in Assam. The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to graduation (also known as Bachelors) courses. The exam can be taken by those who studied Pure Science stream in plus two level with the specific subjects tested in the examination, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Every year approximately 25,000 people take the examination, and it is increasing.

To appear in the Assam CEE exam, applicants are must to meet with following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must possess a domicile of Assam state.
  • Applicant’s age must be in between 17 and 21 years as on August of that year. Three years of relaxation in age is specified for reserved category applicants and one year for graduate applicants.

Upper age limit is relaxed to 22 years in case of B.Sc. passed Candidates. Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Cast and Scheduled Tribe candidates.

  • For admission into B.E./B.Tech Courses the candidate must pass the Qualifying Examination individually in the same sitting without any grace marks in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with a minimum of 50 % (45 % in case of SC and 40 % in case of ST) marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The same sitting means a candidate must appear all the four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English together.

Number of questions: 120
Maximum marks: 480
Question type: objective (multiple choice questions)
Duration: 3 hours
Negative marking: 1 marks/Q

Questions will be distributed as follows.

  • Mathematics: 40 Questions
  • Physics : 40 Questions
  • Chemistry : 40 Questions

Four marks will be awarded for every right answer and one will be deducted for every wrong answer.

No mark will be awarded if the candidate selects more than one option.

Once marked, an answer cannot be changed.

CUCET is a combined entrance test organized for providing admission into various UG, PG & other courses offered by the central universities across India. This year’s coordinating university for conduct of test is Central University of Rajasthan.

  • Last Date of  – 20 April, 2019
  • Edit option  – 21st – 23rd April, 2019
  • Exam Dates – May 25th & 26th , 2019
  • Corrected Answer Key – June 05th , 2019 
  • Result Declaration – June 21st , 2019

EXAM PATTERN:
All Question Papers will be MCQ based consisting of: –

  • Part A : English Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude and analytical skills – comprising of 25 MCQs
  • Part B: Domain Knowledge – comprising of 75 MCQs. This part may consist of one/two/three or more sections. Each section can have 25 or more questions.

Admission to some Integrated Programmes/B.Voc/MBA/MCA/LLB or any other general Programme, only one paper comprising of 100 MCQs covering English language, reasoning, data interpretations/ numerical ability, general awareness and analytical skills will be held.

  • Each paper will be only of Two Hours Duration.

There will be negative marking in CUCET-2019 in UI and PG programmes. Each correct answer will carry 01 mark and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Questions not attempted will not be assessed and hence will not be considered for preparing final merit list.

No negative marking for research programmes of CUCET examination 2019.

Eligibility Criteria

Each university has different eligibility criteria.

  • UG Courses: Candidates must qualify the 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board/university.
  • Integrated Courses: Candidates should pass the Intermediate or equivalent examination from any board.
  • PG Courses: Candidates should hold the Bachelor’s degree in the respective qualifying exam for which they are applied.
  • M.Phill/Ph.D Courses: The applying candidate should hold the Master’s degree.
  • Appearing Candidates: The candidates those are in final year of their qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.
